Quick Review: Trilogy Rosehip Oil

IMG_4677

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

I was a bit apprehensive when I decided to make the move from my trusted hydraluron serum to this little number from Trilogy having never used a facial oil before. I was concerned that it would make even my dry skin greasy but, knowing that it is apparently the secret to Kate Middleton’s stunning complexion, I decided to take a punt. Safe to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I have been using this gem morning and night under my usual moisturisers (or if I’m having a make-up free day sometimes on its own) and it has left my skin supple and hydrated. With no real scent either I think that there is little to dislike about this product and the benefits are plentiful. It makes my skin feel wonderful and that I’m giving it the hydration that it really needs through completely natural means.

As a dry skin sufferer it is the perfect accompaniment to my everyday skincare routine.

Quick Review: How to be Parisian Wherever You Are

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/270/37728718/files/2015/01/img_4323.jpg

There has been a lot of hype around this book this year so after having received it for Christmas, I couldn’t wait to dive in and see for myself what all the fuss was about. I love it. I read in two days, cover to cover, and now deem it as one of the books I can see myself referring to still in many years to come.

These four women, the authors Audrey, Anne, Caroline and Sophie, are geniuses giving an insight into a somewhat elusive world. There are lines which will live with me for the rest of my life. It has given me a new outlook or at least a few new things to think about. A wonderful read, guiding you through the ins and outs of a Parisian’s busy schedule.

It is less of a book and more of a philosophy.

Quick Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine

IMG_4087.JPG

I received this lipstick for my birthday in the colour Mutine and it has been making me a very happy lady since. The lipstick in general is really moisturising and lasts reasonably well. But what I love the most is the fact that Mutine is a natural colour with a pearlescent shine that means that it is just a touch more glamorous than your usual neutral shade. It’s perfect for a sophisticated day look.

A lovely lipstick that is a bit of everyday extravagance.

Quick Review: Bourjois French Manicure Kit

FullSizeRender (1)

Bourjois French Manicure Kit

I’ve always wanted to try a DIY french manicure set but I was concerned that when I used it, they were going to look shockingly bad. I have to say with this little Bourjois set I have been very pleasently surprised! The ingenious little brush for the white tips is great and makes it super easy to achieve delicate tips. With a few tiny touch ups throughout the week I definitely think that they last a good 7 days. And to me 7 days of prettiness is pretty darn good.

Overall I’m super happy with these little wonders. They have certainly become part of my daily life.

Quick Review: Zoella Beauty Blissful Mistful

Hello darlings,

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen that this week I received this little bottle of joy in the post…

IMG_3920.JPG

Zoella Beauty available here and here

It is of course the fragranced body mist from Zoella’s new product range Zoella Beauty. If you watch her videos on YouTube like me then you will know what I mean when I simply say that it is very Zoe. She has definitely catered to her younger audience with its citrusy and somewhat sugary smell but that isn’t to say that it doesn’t have a certain sophistication and charm. The scent is fresh and light- I guess exactly as described it is a blissful mist. The packaging is equally sweet, with the beautiful pink metallic lid and quaint dotty bottle that’ll look cute on any dressing table.

Overall I like it, a lot. It’ll definitely be my go to scent on my more relaxed days.

Quick Review: Good Things Five Minute Facial Face Mask

Good Things Five Minute Facial Face Mask | Boots £3.99

Well, well, well this little bottle definitely is a good thing. Firstly I love how quick and simple it is. I hate having to faff around so the fact that this goes on so easily, is so speedy and rinses off so well is a big plus for me! The texture is lovely, nothing too thick, and it smells very pleasant. As for the results, it definitely leaves my skin feeling softer and dare I say it more radiant. It does exactly what it says on the tin in regards to making my skin clearer, brighter and smoother.

If you like a fuss free face mask I would wholeheartedly recommend this little beauty.

Quick Review: Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer

IMGP0362

Shampoo | Conditioner | 1 minute intensive treatment
(at the moment the 400ml bottles are on offer at Boots making them cheaper than the smaller size- crazy I know!)

Well I’m just going to come out and say it, this is my favourite haircare range that I have ever used! Bold statement I know. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I use all three of these in conjunction, using the normal conditioner on the bottom half of my hair before finishing off just the ends with the 1 minute intensive conditioner. It smells amazing and my only complaint is that my hair doesn’t smell as good once dry.

I would recommend these to anyone. They really have restored the sleekness of my hair- they’re just glorious.

Quick Review: The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick

Whilst in Bath a few weeks ago, I by chance popped into a Body Shop and picked up this little beauty of a lipstick….

I bought the colour Peachy Pink and absolutely adore it. It is a beautiful and very easy to wear colour- personally I like it best with a fresh faced look, with just a touch of rosy pink blusher and a little bit of eyeliner. The lipstick itself is really moisturising, applies very easily and lasts well too.

All in all this lipstick is a definite winner for me.

Quick Review: Barry M Matte Nail Varnish

Hello darlings,

Recently I was welcomed into the #AccessallASOS family with this lovely Barry M nail varnish and a delicate ring (they picked up on my not so discrete love of Kate Middleton). I rarely venture to paint my nails but I was curious about the matte finish and pushed the boat out.

20140208-182019.jpg

It took me a little while to get used to the matte effect but it really grew on me. It was very easy to apply and lasted pretty well (a couple of days perfect and then a few more acceptable). I am very tempted to buy it in another colour- perhaps a wine red. Anyway if you’re looking for a nail varnish that’s a little different to the norm I would highly recommend this one.

Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer ’14

This week Chanel, spearheaded by the glorious Karl Lagerfeld, held it’s spring/summer Haute Couture fashion show. Now trainers and a peculiar halo of hair may not be my first choice of accompaniment with haute couture but the silohettes, colour palette and the sheer amount of sparkle of the whole thing made it an incredibly spectacular show for me.

I also loved how the models pranced and ran a little down the stairs, it gave them life and personality and in general gave such a lightness to the classiest of events.

Here are a couple of extra little gems…
