Hello darlings,

I don’t think that there is any greater treat than a little something from Tiffany & Co! Recently I have become a little infatuated with this beautiful ring…

Wednesday Wardrobe Staple: The Smart Coat

If there is any staple that I am missing from my wardrobe it’s a smart coat- a necessity for this time of year for an evening event. So I went looking for my perfect one and fell for this little cream number from Topshop

It’ll look just darling over a formal evening dress or over a pastel shift dress for a fancier look come spring.

Shoe of the Week

Another week begins and it is time yet again for me to choose my shoe of the week. This week it is these Pollini boots that have stolen my heart…

Pollini Boots

Personally I would wear them with jeans, a cream blouse and a little chanel-esque tweed jacket. See how my fellow blogger Ella Catliff aka La Petite Anglaise styled her’s here, the lucky thing, and make sure you check out her very chic blog whilst you’re there, she’s pretty darn amazing!

Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer ’14

This week Chanel, spearheaded by the glorious Karl Lagerfeld, held it’s spring/summer Haute Couture fashion show. Now trainers and a peculiar halo of hair may not be my first choice of accompaniment with haute couture but the silohettes, colour palette and the sheer amount of sparkle of the whole thing made it an incredibly spectacular show for me.

I also loved how the models pranced and ran a little down the stairs, it gave them life and personality and in general gave such a lightness to the classiest of events.

Here are a couple of extra little gems…

Friday Favourites #4

Hello darlings,

Here are a few things that I have been fancying this week…

Cardigan | Girls DVD | Bracelet | iPad Case | Skirt

~ I adore this pretty cardigan from the French company Repetto; it’s exactly the type that I have wanted for a long time!
~ I have been considering the purchase of Girls after falling a little in love with Lena when she was on The Graham Norton Show (I’ve put the clip below, she stole my heart)
~ My mum has bought out some new ranges to her jewellery line definitely go check her out here. I especially love this little number.
~ I love the colour of this skirt and the fact that it’s woollen makes it far more wearable- practical and pretty.
~ I saw this Mulberry iPad a couple of days ago and fell not only for the glorious colour but also for how soft the leather is.

My Fashion Book Collection

20140119-072905.jpg

Hello darlings,

For Christmas I received quite a few fashion books so now I have quite the collection which I thought that I’d share with you…

20140119-072918.jpg

The Fashion Book | A Passion for Stilettos | Shoes

My little version of The Fashion Book is an incredibly cute A-Z of all things fashion whilst my two tiny books about shoes are full of nuggets of delightful information about all kinds of shoes.

20140119-072937.jpg

100 Ideas that Changed Fashion | 50 Fashion Looks that Changed the 1990s

I love my 100 Ideas That Changed Fashion, it’s full of information about all things fashion from the open shoe to the death of the corset. Similarly my 50 fashion looks that changed the 1990s book is a compilation of wonderful 90s things from the wonderbra to the Spice Girls.

Vogue Collections

These are just my favourite things, yes they’re not books, but they are the epitome of fashion with just pages and pages of glossy pictures from the season’s main shows and the accompanying accessories.

The Fashion Book | Fashion A History of the 20th Century

The Fashion Book aka ‘the fashion bible’ as dubbed by Vogue is the A-Z of everything fashion and quite simply, it is absolutely fantastic! It is a real must for anyone who loves fashion’s rich culture. In addition the Fashion History of the 20th Century is full of beautiful pictures of garments from throughout that 20th Century with short and sweet explanations.

Jimmy Choo: Icons

The crème de la crème for any shoe lover’s book collection. Believe you me if you love shoes you will adore this parade of some of the most beautiful shoes known to man- it’s glorious!

How to be lovely | So Audrey

Once again not fashion books but I couldn’t leave these two little gems out of the mix with Audrey Hepburn being an idol to me in more ways than simply regarding fashion. My Oma bought me the How to be lovely book which was so very kind. It’s full of extracts from Audrey’s professional and personal life and most definitely a must read for any self confessed Hepburn fan. The So Audrey book is full of sweet one liners to add a little Audrey into your life.

Shoe of the Week: L K Bennett Special

As a lover of L K Bennett, well it’s hard not to be, I always welcome their new season in especially with the oh so pretty shoes. Consequently here are my favourite picks from the new collection…

20140118-091823.jpg

These heels are just so classic and I’m sure I could recreate many Audrey Hepburn looks in these- my idea of the perfect staple shoe.

20140118-091832.jpg

Now normally I’m not a sparkly shoe kind of girl but the subtle nature of these little darlings won me over. I think that they’ll work all of the way through the year with a cream summer dress for an evening look to with a LBD on New Year’s Eve. Therefore the perfect buy to pick up now to wear all year round.

20140118-091853.jpg

These are just gorgeous, sleek and topped off with a little bow- what more can a girl ask for?

20140118-091904.jpg

White heels don’t have the best reputation but the beauty of these would change anybody’s mind.

One on L K Bennett’s classic courts in an ever chic colour, can you really go wrong?

Review: Coco Mademoiselle Chanel Moisture Mist

When my Mama and Grandad surprised me with the gift of Coco Mademoiselle moisture mist for Christmas I was a very happy bunny. I have been infatuated by this perfume since I was 12, standing at the Chanel counter in Galeries Lafayette in Paris. So to receive a little twist on my favourite scent was a lovely thing indeed.

20140113-161404.jpg

Regardless of the fact that it smells so delightful, it’s a lovely moisturiser and surprisingly it didn’t disagree with my sensitive skin. It absorbs into the skin very easily and well, it’s moisturiser that smells of Chanel, if that’s not luxury for everyday life I don’t know what is!

Dressing like a Lady

Hello darlings,

I may only be 18 but for me a ladylike hem length, a classic heel and a chic bag are far more appealing than anything say in neon- it’s just my personal taste. In fact on my ‘About me’ page I comment on how I dub my style as “granny chic” because in essence an older, of course stylish, lady is more likely to be dressed like me than a stereotypical girl my age would be. I’d love to have a revival of the demure look amongst us teens; fewer hot pants and more well structured wide leg trousers, fewer tiny tight dresses and more tea dresses and fewer exposing tops and more blouses. Clearly individual style should be celebrated and wearing a uniform of a blouse and a neat pencil skirt is not what I am suggesting but, as old fashioned as this may sound, I don’t think revisiting a time when everything was left a little bit more to the imagination would be a such bad thing. The lovely DoC Kate Middleton has already done wonders in this field, raising the profile of dressing in an elegant way. So with this in mind I’ve put together a few pieces that would fit perfectly in a ladylike capsule wardrobe…

Shoe of the Week

Repetto is a french company that began by making ballet shoes and branched out. But it has only now made the leap across the Chanel to grace our British soil for which I am very grateful. I love their classic designs across the board and their products’ Parisienne feel. I’ve picked out some of my favourite pieces from their collection with this beautiful pair of shoes taking centre stage…
